A 14yr old doing grown-up things goes viral,
And this same media we are viewing now makes it spiral,
Out of control, devoid of soul, the 14yr old is the sole,
Recipient of ridicule, for what she did in the school,
Ol' boy and his boys probably high-fivin actin' cool,
... Using the very tool, we all addicted to...
Radio airwaves, promiscuity dominates the airplay,
The Skis, Camerons, and Smileys claim their superiority,
but the playlist goes to those that pay,
That's why you get the same ten promiscuous songs played 20 times every day,
And who's gonna say, "That's it, you've gone too far,
I will no longer let you contribute to my child becoming the wrong kind of star"
Childhood innocence is being snatched away in 4 hours blocks of trash each day,
Or the one-eyed monster, or the hand-held distraction,
All for the unseen Puppet Master's satisfaction,
We are all guilty, myself included,
I say turn off the tv and radio to make this world less polluted.

i'm wit cha on turning off the tv and radio,
ReplyDeletesomething i practice daily,
so much so,
when someone starts small talk about the daily news,
the end results most times is he or she saying,
man you didnt hear you don't know
but every now and then i let the off balanced frequencies flow,
in an attempt to stay abreast,
cause if you don't know about what's going on in da streets,
how you goin know,
how to provide the antedote,
for the mental venom creeping,
one play at a time seeping,
into the inner most psyche of the young,
which over time becomes a bomb.
i like some of the new songs,
but the blatant disreguard for the responsibility to tell both sides of the story is what i find wrong.
we smoked and rode,
forgive the raw truth...
killed a few niggas and pimped two or three hoes
sold dope, robbed banks and cona stoes,
but the whole time we also verbalized the consequences of traveling down this rode,
a trivial mode,
worshipping ice, matchbox mansions, fancy clothes and delapidating cars,
its a damn shame that the new red badge of courage
seems to be doing a lil time behind bars...
